Transport
1. Competitors can take Green Mini Bus (route 7) to Hoi Ha at Sai Kung Mini Bus terminal. Transportation fee will be $10/person and traveling time will be about 30min. (first bus—0755 last bus—1825)
2. You are reminded to board the green mini bus (route 7) at Sai Kung Mini Bus Terminal instead of Pak Tam Chung as there will be crown of visitors waiting at Sai Kung for the same Mini Bus to Hoi Ha.
Event Centre
1. The Event Centre is located at the Hoi Ha Road BBQ Site (G.R. 50QKK246859). Please see Map 2.
2. There is a public toilet at about 400m from the Event Centre.
3. Competitors should collect their number cloth & safety pins at the Event Centre.
4. Physiotherapy service will be provided at the Event Centre.
5. Official time will be displayed at the Event Centre.
6. Please keep the Event Centre clean and take all rubbish away.
1. The competition area is mainly open grassland, with some areas with dense vegetation,/jungle. Some slopes are steep, with high grass/bushes and stony ground.
2. Some areas are rich in rock features.
3. In some areas, cows are wandering.
4. In the area hikers have marked many paths with tape. In the open land sometimes the tape is more distinct then the path itself from a distance, but be careful. Sometimes there is tape in the terrain, but no path visible on the ground. If there is tape in the terrain, but no path visible, there is NO path on the map. Also there are a few very indistinct cattle trails in the terrain. They are not marked on the map.

2. Time Limit for all courses is 150 minutes.

Starting Procedure
.
1. The start area will be located 1500m away from event centre with climbing of 175m. It takes about 45min to get there. Please follow indications.
2. Please arrive 5 minutes prior to your start time.
3. Please put on number cloth in front of chest and have compass, whistle and electronic control card ready. Competitors without any of above item are not allowed to start.
4. A “2-minute zone” system will be used at Start. The time shown at Start is Entry Time. Competitors’ number will not be announced 2 minutes before his/her actual start time. Please enter the first box of the “2-minute zone”.
5. IOF description will be available at the “2-minute zone”. Please bring along your description holder. Tapes and cutters will be provided.
6. Enter the last box 1 minute before start. Place the electronic control card on “start unit” at the same time.
7. Competitors may start and take map only after hearing the last beep. Please check if the information on map, such as class entered, is correct. Competitors taking wrong maps will be disqualified. Competitors are not allowed to stay along the aisle between the start and the start triangle.
8. Latecomers must report to the officials at Start. They will be arranged to start at the late starting line. The time lost will not be compensated.
9. Competitors may wear clothes on the way to start. Please collect clothes yourselves on the way to event centre via start after the competition.
Finishing Procedure and Result Processing
1. Competitors must report to finish within 150 minutes after they have started, no matter how far they have completed the courses or electronic control card is lost.
2. At finish, “punch” the electronic control card at the “finish unit”, that time will be recorded as finish time. Please hand in the back up label to the Finish Officials
3. There is no buffer zone at Finish line.
4. Maps will not be collected at Finish. However, finishers should not disclose the map to competitors waiting for start.
5. Leave for Event Centre in order to avoid congestion at Finish. Competitors are advised to process results at their earliest convenience. Competitors bear their own responsibility if there is any damage or data lost during the journey.
6. Result processing counter is located at Event Centre.
7. Distance from the Finish to the Event Centre is about 1500m with 180m descent. It takes about 25 minutes. Please be careful when going down slope as part of the path is very rocky and steep.
8. Every competitor has to download the result at result processing counter. Any competitors who forget to download result before the event closing time will be regarded as disqualified (DISQ).
Electronic Punching and Timing System (EPTS)
1. Please refer to the attached information regarding EPTS for details.
2. Competitors should take their own control card. Number cloth, safety pins and backup label should be collected at the Event Centre. In case competitors forget to take electronic control card, they need to pay $50 rental fee and $250 deposit, which will be refundable when card returned. (Spare cards are limited and will be served on a first-come-first-serve basis). Ensure the electronic card number corresponds to the number shown on Start List. Otherwise, please contact OAHK as soon as possible for correction.
3. Competitors using others’ electronic card or participate the event on behalf of others will be disqualified.
4. Competitors should write down their competitors’ numbers in the front of their backup labels before start. If the organizer has doubt on a particular punch record of an e-card, records of the backup label will be considered as a valid counter-check tool.
Rules
1. The “Orienteering Competition By-law” of the OAHK will be applied to this competition.
2. No other aids allowed except equipment aforementioned.
3. Loss of e-card will be considered as DID NOT FINISH (DNF), but competitors shall report to Finish.
4. Competitor who move or damage any facilities will be disqualified.
5. The organiser has the right to amend any competition rules without prior notice to competitors. The amendment, if any, will be displayed at Event Centre.
6. Competitors may not camp or stay overnight in the competition area beforehand or otherwise disqualified.
7. For safety, please report to Finish or Event Centre within 150 minutes after your start.
1. All complaints on the event or result shall be made in writing to the organiser within 15 minutes after the final result has been announced. The organiser will record the appeal and its decision.
2. All protest made against the organiser‘s decision about complaints must be made in writing.
3. All appeal made against the organiser‘s decision about protest must be made in writing to the Technical Committee after the competition. But the decision of the organiser on result of competitors is final, appeal cannot be made to the Technical Committee
Remarks
1. If there are any changes of this event information, announcement will be made by organizer on the competition day.
2. All competitors shall ensure their own safety and belongings. The organizers will not bear any responsibilities.
3. The organizer does not provide a cloakroom and will not be responsible for loss of belongings. Consequently, competitors are advised not to bring valuables.
4. If the Honk Kong Observatory issues the thunderstorm signal, a rainstorm red/black warning or the No.3 (or above) tropical cyclone warning signal by 0600 on the competition day, then this event will be postponed. All competitors will be informed of the new date for this event.
