Transportation
1. No transportation will be provided. Competitors can take public transport to the Event Centre, please see the attached Location Map of Event Centre.
2. You can take West Rail(http://www.kcrc.com/chi/services/services/w_index.asp) to Yuen Long Station and then take a 20 minutes’ walk to the Event Centre, or take a NT Taxi to the Event Centre.
3. You can take KMB(Tel. enquiry : 2745 4466, http://www.kmb.hk) to Tung Tau Village Bus Stop at Yuen Long Section of Castle Road(opposite to Yuen Long Station of West Rail, e.g.Route No.68M…
And then take about 15 minutes walk to the Event centre; or take 76K to Tung Shing Lane Bus Stop,
Just outside the Event Centre.
4. Competitors have to enter the Event Centre from the main entrance of TWGGs CY Ma Memorial College, signpost will be set up near the Event centre.
5. No public car park is available near the Event Centre. Public car park is only available at a distance.

Event Centre
1. The event centre is located TWGGs CY Ma Memorial College at 3 Yau Sin Road, Au Tau, Yuen Long, N.T.. Competitors must not enter the out of bound area inside the school.
2. Toilet is located at the Event Centre. No showering, washing shoes and clothing is allowed.
3. The tuck shop of the school will be opened with drinks and snacks available on sale. Business time is negotiable.
4. Please keep the place clean. Being a responsible orienteer, bring back all your rubbish.
5. The official time will be shown at the Event Centre
6. No luggage storage service will be provided.
7. Physiotherapy & First Aid Services will be provided at the Event Centre.
8. To save the traveling time between the Event Centre and the Start area , there will be a ‘Mid-way Event Centre’ between the Start Area and the Event Centre. Competitors can get more resting time by stay at the Mid-way event centre. Please see the attached flow chart for details about the arrangement of Mid-way Event Centre.
Registration of Competitors
1. Competitors must register at the Event Centre between 8:30am to 9.00am to collect your number bib, E-card back-up label and start time.
Remarks for Final Race
1. The first 23 places of Women A/B & Men A/B’s classes who can complete the course within 75 minutes in the Qualifying Race can enter the Final Race. Those who cannot enter the Final Race can take part in the Guest Race with mass start at 1430 hours, no prize will be offered in the Guest Race. The list of Final Race competitors will be displayed at the Mid-way Event Centre and the Event Centre at 1230 and 1245 hours respectively..
2. The start order of Final Race will .be assigned according to the results of Qualifying Race. The start order shall be the reverse of the placings in Qualifying Race, i.e. the fastest competitors will start last.
3. Winners of the Middle Distance Championships will be determined by the placings in the Final race.
START procedures
.
1. For Qualifying Race, your compass, whistle, e-card with back-up label will be checked when you leaving event Centre. You will not be allowed without any of the aforesaid items. Please take a bottle of water and help to deliver it to the Start Point. The event officials will then transfer the water to your water point. Thank you for your co-operation.
2. You can leave your belongings including the lunch and changing clothing at the Mid-way Event Centre. You are not required to return to the Event Centre after the finishing the Qualifying Race. You can take rest at the Mid-way Event Centre before starting the Final Race in the afternoon. It takes about 15 minutes to get to the Mid-way Event Centre from the Event Centre, and the traveling time from the Mid-way Event Centre to the Starts of Qualifying Race and the Final Race is about 20 and 25 minutes respectively.
3. Please arrive at the START 10 minutes before the start time4. You must wear the number bib chest high and carry your compass, whistle and E-card with back-up label, otherwise you are not allowed to start.
5. A “2-minute box” zone is employed and the START clock shows the start time.
6. Please enter the “first box” when your start time is shown.
7. Please hand your E-card to the start official for checking and the IOF control description slip will be distributed. Limited quantity of adhesive tape, marker pens and safety pins will be available at the Start.
8. Please check if the information on map, such as class entered, is correct. Competitors taking wrong maps will be disqualified.
9. Please enter the last box. Place the E-card on the start unit and start upon hearing the last beep.
10. Latecomers must report to the late-start official at the late-start lane. Time lost will not be compensated.
Remarks for START
1. Start interval for both Qualifying and Final Race is 1 minute, while 1 minute start interval.
2. At least 6 seconds before start, competitors must activate their e-cards by placing them on the “Start Unit” until the red light flashes, otherwise no running time will be recorded.
3. Competitors must remove the e-cards from the “Start Unit” when the starter gives a long beep signal for starting.
Information on competition venue and map
1. There will be a water point in the competition area which will be marked on the map.
2. Most of the competition area is open area with good runnability. For safety sake, please pay special attention to the big and small pits, screes and slopes without any vegetation in the competition area.
3, Most of the ruin and excavated graves will be shown as small re-entrants by contour lines or form lines on the map. Photo of the real feature will be displayed at the Event Centre.

FINISH procedures and Result processing
1. The traveling time by foot between the Finish area of both qualifying & Final race and the Mid-way Event Centre and the Event Centre is about 15 minutes and 30 minutes respectively.
2. Competitors must report to the Finish or Event Centre, no matter finish the course or loss of e-card.
3. When reaching the finish line, you must punch your E-card at the finish unit which records your course completion time. Please hand in your back-up label to the finish official before leaving the FINISH.
4. You are not allowed to return to the competition area after leaving the FINISH and must head for result counter to download your results at the Mid-way Event Centre(for Qualifying Race) and the Event Centre(for Final Race)vent centre within the specified time..
5. Maps will be collected and it is against OL rules and ethnics to disclose the map to competitors who have not yet started. Otherwise competitors will be disqualified. All maps will be returned to the Event Centre for your collection after the Final Race.
6. Every competitor has to download the result at result processing counters at the Mid-way Event Centre(for Qualifying Race) and the Event Centre(for Final Race)vent centre within the specified time.. Any competitors who forget to download result before the event closing time will be regarded as disqualified (DISQ).
Remarks for FINISH
1. As soon as competitors arrive at the Finish, please place the e-cards at the Finish Control, the time-count will stop accordingly. Please hand in your back-up label to the finish official after crossing the finishing line.
2. After that, please follow the signposts/indication cards to the Result Processing Station to download your results.
Competition rules
1. No aids other than maps provided and equipment items permitted by organizer should be used.
2. Loss of E-card is considered as DNF and you are required to report to the FINISH or Event Centre.
3. All rules and regulations must be well observed and obeyed.
4. Organiser has the right to amend any regulations without prior notice and all amendments will be displayed at the event centre on the competition day.
5. Violation of competition rules and regulations will lead to disqualification.
Complaint & Protest
1. Complaints related to result must be made in writing to the organizer within 15 minutes after the result release by the organizer.
2. Protests raised against the jury’s decision shall be made in writing to the organizer within 30 minutes after the release of the jury’s decision.
E-punching and timing
1. EMIT EPTS will be employed for this event.
2. Competitors should bring their own e-cards which completed in the entry form. Those who forget to bring should pay rental fee of HK$50 and deposit of HK$250 at a “first-come first-served basis.
3. Competitors should write down their competitors’ numbers in the front of their backup labels before start. If the organizer has doubt on a particular punch record of an e-card, records of the backup label will be considered as a valid counter-check tool.
Remarks
1. Any change in this Event Information will be displayed at the event centre on the day of the competition.
2. You shall be responsible for your own safety and legal responsibility.
3. If Typhoon Signal No. 3 or above is hoisted, or the Thunderstorm/ Yellow Rainstorm warning or above is announced by the HK Observatory at 0600 hours on the day of competition, the competition will be postponed. Details will be announced later.

Essential Information for Electronic Punching and Timing System
1. No Competitor may refuse to use the “electronic punching and timing system” unless the organizer has issued the Notice of Malfunction of the aforesaid system.
2. The running time will be calculated based on the records in the e-cards. If the organizer has doubt on a particular punch record of an e-card, records of the backup label will be considered as a valid counter-check tool. In case both of them have no record, that particular punch record will be deemed voided.

2. Competitors must remove the e-cards from the “Start Unit” when the starter gives a long beep signal for starting.
1. It is the competitors’ own responsibility to insert the e-card into the e-punch correctly. In fact, e-cards can only be inserted into the e-punch in one direction. If both the e-card and backup label cannot record a particular punch record, system malfunction will not be considered as a valid reason for appeal.
1. As soon as competitors arrive at the Finish, please place the e-cards at the Finish Control, the time-count will stop accordingly,
2. After that, please follow the signposts/indication cards to return to the Event Centre and report to the Result Processing Station. After our officials have collected your backup label and have downloaded the records from your e-card, you may obtain your result slip from the mini-time recorder for reference.
1. Please do not insert your e-card into any Start Unit or e-punch after the completion of your race. By not doing so, your punch records will be retained for counter-check purpose.
2. Results of late starters will be processed separately. The final results displayed by the organizer will be conclusive; results from the mini-time recorder are for reference only.
