Transportation
1. No transportation will be provided.
2. KMB bus No. 51 from Kam Tin and green mini-bus No. 80 from Tsuen Wan (pick up at the junction of Siu Wo Street & Chuen Lung Street) stop at Tai Kiu bus stop along the Route Twist.(Please be reminded that there is very limited car parking near the Tai Kiu bus stop.)
3. It takes about 30 minutes’ walk from the Tai Kiu bus stop to the event centre.
Event Centre
1. The event centre is a memorial pavilion located at the middle part of the catch-water from Tai Kiu (G.R. KK 010786).
2. No toilet nor luggage storage service will be provided.
3. The observatory standard time will be displayed.
4. Be a clean orienteer, please keep the whole event area clean.
5. Physiotherapy & First Aid Services will be provided at the Event Centre.
START procedures
1. It takes 5 - 10 minutes from EC to START. (400M walk, 90M climb)
2. Please arrive at the START 5 minutes before the start time.
3. Please ensure that compass, whistle and E-card are ready for checking.
4. A “2-minute box” zone is employed and the START clock shows the start time.
5. Please enter the “first box” when your start time is shown.
6. Please hand your E-card to the start official for checking and the IOF control description slip will be distributed.
7. Please enter the last box and check the Competitor’s Number written on the back of the map. Place the E-card on the start unit and start upon hearing the last beep.
8. Please be reminded that the start unit is set on your right hand side.
9. Latecomers must report to the late-start official at the late-start lane. Time lost will not be compensated.
Information on competition venue and map
1. Please don’t disturb cattle wandering and keep calm when facing them alone.
2. About 40% of the centre and the south-eastern part of the competition venue are covered by plantation. Running speed within this area is 60% of the maximum speed. A fire break surrounding the plantation is represented by the symbol “rough open land”. The remaining area is mostly rough open (slow running) with plenty of boulders.
3. Only power lines with pylons are shown on the map.
4. Please be advised that for best protection and comfortable run, professional OL suit and gear should be worn.
5. The two water posts are shown on the map.

2. The courses include “STAR legs” and you are required to visit the controls IN ORDER.
3. The competition time limit is 2 hours 30 minutes (150 minutes)。
4. If the HK Observatory issues a thunderstorm warning, NO.3 or above tropical cyclone warning signal or a red or black rainstorm warning during the competition, the event will be terminated and you must report to the FINISH or the event centre.
5. This is the first time OAHK organized the Annual Classic Distance Championships. The course length is longer than the normal event. Two water-points will be set at the event, but competitors still advised to bring own enough water and have enough rest before the event.
FINISH procedures and Result processing
1. You must report to the FINISH or the event centre whether your course is completed, whether your E-card is lost, otherwise you are considered “Missing”.
2. When reaching the finish line, you must punch your E-card at the finish unit which records your course completion time. Please hand in your back-up label to the finish official before leaving the FINISH.
3. You are not allowed to return to the competition area after leaving the FINISH and must head for result processing at the event centre.
4. Maps will not be collected and it is against OL rules and ethnics to disclose the map to competitors who have not yet started.
5. It takes about 20 minutes to return to the event centre.
Competition rules
1. No aids other than maps provided and equipment items permitted by organizer should be used.
2. Loss of E-card is considered as DNF and you are required to report to the FINISH.
3. To facilitate the flow of the competition and for your safety, you are required to report to the FINISH or event centre within 2.5 hours (150 minutes) regardless of course incompletion, otherwise “Missing” will be counted.
4. All rules and regulations must be well observed and obeyed.
5. Organiser has the right to amend any regulations without prior notice and all amendments will be displayed at the event centre on the competition day.
6. Violation of competition rules and regulations will lead to disqualification.
Complaint & Protest
1. Complaints related to result must be made in writing to the organizer within 15 minutes after the result release by the organizer.
2. Protests raised against the jury’s decision shall be made in writing to the organizer within 30 minutes after the release of the jury’s decision.
E-punching and timing
1. EMIT EPTS will be employed for this event.
2. Competitors should bring their own e-cards which completed in the entry form. Those who forget to bring should pay rental fee of HK$50 and deposit of HK$250 at a “first-come first-served basis.
Remarks
1. Any change in this Event Information will be displayed at the event centre on the day of the competition.
2. You shall be responsible for your own safety and legal responsibility.
3. If a thunderstorm warning, a red or black rainstorm warning or a NO. 3 or above tropical cyclone warning signal is in effect at 07:00 on the competition day, this event will be cancelled and you will be informed of the postponement through the OAHK official website http://www.oahk.org.
