Transport
1. Transportation from Sai Kung to Event Centre will be
provided to those competitors who
had already paid the transportation fee.
Boarding place at Sai Kung Tang Shiu Kin Sports Ground. Boarding time at
0745hrs. & all coaches will leave at 0800 hrs. sharp. Please be punctual.
2. Others can take KMB No.94
from Sai Kung to Wong Shek Pier(about 30 mins.) or by
KMB No. 96R from Diamond Hill MTR Station to Wong Shek Pier(about 65 mins.). Get off at the Tai Tan BBQ Site stop and follow the signed posts to the Event Centre which is about 120 metres away from the bus stop. For details about the bus information, please browse the KMB web site www.kmb.com.hk or ring the hotline 2745 4466.
3. Coaches will return from
the Event Centre at 1445 hrs and 1515 hours.
Event
Centre
1.
The Event Centre is located at Sai Kung Tai Tan CAS
Training Camp(G.R. 50QKK253835).
2.
Toilets are available in the Event Centre.
3.
Physiotherapy and First Aid service will be provided
at the Event Centre.
4.
Official time will be displayed at the Event Centre.
5.
No fire is allowed inside the Event Centre. Please
keep the Event Centre clean and take all rubbish away.
6.
The organizer does not provide a cloakroom and will
not be responsible for loss of belongings. Consequently, competitors are
advised not to bring valuables.
Electronic
Punching and Timing System (EPTS)
1.
Please refer to the attached information regarding
EPTS for details.
2.
Competitors have to use the same number cloth
throughout the Champion League events.
Please keep it in good shape!
3.
Competitors should take their own control card and
number cloth (safety pins available at Event Centre). In case competitors forget to take
electronic control card, they need to pay $50 hiring fee and $150 deposit,
which will be refundable when card returned. (Spare cards are limited and will be
served on a first-come-first-serve basis).
If competitors forget to take number cloth, a $5 will be collected as
processing fee.
4.
Ensure the electronic card number corresponds to the
number shown on Start List. Otherwise,
please contact OAHK as soon as possible for correction.
1. At first glimpse the map might seem like
a piece of Pak Choi, but it is actually much nicerJ Not for eating though¡K. The green areas are
there to make the route choices more interesting, and the actual competition
area is mainly nice, with open grassland, and a few small forest areas. Some
slopes are steep, with high grass/bushes and stony ground. Take care!! Also a
few paths are steep and rocky. Please be careful !!
2.. Some areas are rich in rock features.
Check the control description, so you know at which feature the control is. And
maybe more important. Keep the map contact so you know where you are.
3. The area is very popular with hikers
during Holidays. Be careful when running along the hiking paths.
4. No matter the day the area is popular
with Wild boars. If you meet any no worry. They escape fast into the bushes.
5. Bad memories fade fast, but good
stay longer. Make this a competition to rememberJ

1.
Control descriptions will be available at the Event
Centre on the Event Day.
3. Course
time for all courses is 150 minutes.
Starting Procedure
1.
The distance between the Event Centre and the Start
Area is about 3 km plus 150m climb, it takes about 40-45 minutes by foot.
Please follow the marked route and walk to the Event Centre, failure to do so
will LEAD TO DISQUALIFICATION. Please
be careful when crossing the road and should walk along the pedestrian.
2.
Please
arrive at least 5 minutes prior to your start time.
3.
Please put on number cloth in front of chest and
have compass, whistle and electronic
control card ready. Competitors
without any of above item are not allowed to start.
4.
A ¡§2-minute zone¡¨
system will be used at Start. The time shown at Start is Entry Time. Competitors¡¦ number will be announced
2 minutes before his/her actual start time. Please enter the first box of
the ¡§2-minute zone¡¨.
5.
Enter the
last box 1 minute before start. Place the electronic control card on ¡§start unit¡¨ at
the same time.
6.
Competitors may start
and take map only after hearing the last beep. Please check if the information on map,
such as class entered, is correct. Competitors taking wrong maps will be
disqualified. Follow streamers to
the start triangle. Competitors are not allowed to stay along the
aisle between the start and the start triangle.
7.
Latecomers must report to the officials at Start. They will be arranged to start at the
late starting line. The time lost will not be compensated.
Finishing Procedure and Result Processing
1.
Competitors must report to Finish within 150 minutes
after they have started, no matter have the course completed or electronic
control card lost. All courses will be closed at 1355 hrs. At finish, ¡§punch¡¨
the electronic control card at the ¡§finish unit¡¨, that time will be recorded as
finish time. Please hand in the back up label to the Finish Officials

Leave for Event Centre in order to avoid congestion
at Finish. Competitors are advised
to process results at their earliest convenience. Competitors bear their own responsibility
if there is any damage or data lost during the journey.
3.
Result
processing counter is located at Event Centre.
4.
Distance from the Finish to the Event Centre is
about 2km with 70m descent. It takes about 25 minutes walk. Please be careful
when going down slope as part of the path is very rocky and steep.
Rules
1.
The ¡§Orienteering Competition By-law¡¨ of the
OAHK will be applied to this competition.
2.
No other
aids allowed except equipment aforementioned.
3.
Loss of
e-card will be considered as DID NOT FINISH (DNF), but competitors shall report
to Finish.
4.
Competitor
who move or damage any facilities will be disqualified.
5.
Competitors
may not camp or stay overnight in the competition area beforehand or otherwise
disqualified.
6.
For safety,
please report to Finish or Event Centre before 1355 after your start.
7.
Maps will
not be collected by the organizer. However, finishers should not disclose the
map to competitors waiting for start.
8.
Competitors
should obey the instructor of the organizer.
9.
The
organiser has the right to amend any competition rules without prior notice to
competitors. The amendment, if any,
will be displayed at Event Centre.
10.
Violation
of competition rules will lead to disqualification.
1. A
complaint can be made about infringements of the OAHK ¡§Orienteering
Competition By-law¡¨ or the organiser¡¦s directions. Any complaint shall be
made orally or in writing to the organiser as soon as possible. A complaint
relating to a competitor¡¦s result shall be made within 15 minutes after the
promulgation of the result. A complaint is adjudicated by the organiser. The
complainant shall be informed about the decision immediately.
2. A
protest can be made against the organiser¡¦s decision about a complaint. Any
protest shall be made in writing to the organiser/a member of the jury as soon
as possible and within 30 minutes of the organiser¡¦s decision about a
complaint.
Remarks
1. If
there are any changes of this event information, announcement will be made by
organizer on the competition day.
2. All competitors shall ensure their own safety and
belongings. The organizers will not
bear any responsibilities.
3. The organizer does not provide a cloakroom and will not be
responsible for loss of belongings. Consequently, competitors are advised not
to bring valuables.
4. If the Honk Kong Observatory issues the thunderstorm signal,
a rainstorm red/black warning or the No.3 (or above) tropical cyclone warning
signal by 0600 on the competition day, then this event will be postponed. All competitors will be informed of the
new date for this event.
