Competition Area & Map Information

1.         Some indistinct paths possibly made by cows are not mapped, and please do not irritate the cows.

2.         Power lines and poles are not mapped.

3.         There are lots of un-mapped stone walls in the northern part of the map.

4.         Be careful of the stony terrain in the north. Due to the vast amount of rocks on the terrain, some rocks (which might be taller than 1m) are omitted from the map for simplification.

5.         Man-made gullies are not mapped. They usually appear on top of <walls>, some of them are well-hidden. Please be careful when crossing.

6.         Paved forests (white) are marked by distinct vegetation boundaries.

7.         The area is very popular with hikers during Holidays. Be careful when running along the hiking paths and do not bump into the hikers.

8.         Water point will be available and its location is shown on map. But you are strongly advised to carry with you drinking water during competition as there is only limited water supply.

9.         If you happen to get lost, run towards the highway or Tai Mo Shan Road, it will lead you back to the Event Centre.

Course details

1.        There are no designated crossing points for roads. Please look out for vehicles.

2.        Some of the roads are marked as out of bounds on the Map (with purple crosses). Competitors should not cross or run along the road in those sections, or else you will be disqualified.

3.        Competitors may have to run along steep slopes and dense forests, please take care.

4.        There may be a lot of control points in a very small area. Please remember to check the sequence and control code when punching. Moreover, since there are a lot of controls for each course, you may not get a valid result if you mis-punch too many controls (each e-card can only store 50 control records) so check carefully before you punch.

5.        Water will be supplied at both the start and in the middle of the course (location marked on the map). Competitors are advised to bring their own water (if necessary), just in case there is not enough water at the water stations.
