Transport
1. The organizer will not arrange official transportation. Please arrange on your own.
2. You may take the buses of the following routes to the bus stop at “PAK TAM AU MANAGEMENT CENTRE”.

3. Please allow enough time for your transportation, since the bus frequency is low.
Event Centre
1. The Event Centre is located at. Pak Tam Au Management Centre. (GR: 50Q KK 250810)
2. The time used from “Pak Tam Au Management Centre” bus stop to Event Centre is about 5 minutes. Please follow the marked route to the Event Centre, otherwise he/she may be led to disqualification.

3. Toilets are not available at the Event Centre. The nearest toilet is located near at the “Pak Tam Au” bus stop. The time used for the nearest toilet is about 20 minutes. Please follow the mark route. Crossing to opposite road is necessary for going to toilet. Competitor please pays attention. Competitors must follow the marked route to the toilet, otherwise he/she may be led to disqualification.
4. Please collect your own number bid, safety pins and e-card backup label. Each class of IOF description will be distributed at each Start zone.
5. Official time will be displayed at the Event Centre.
6. Physiotherapy and first aid services will be provided at the Event Centre.
7. No fire is allowed inside the Event Centre. Please keep the Event Centre clean and take all rubbish away.
8. Competitors are advised not to bring valuable items with them. The organizer will not provide competitors with storage facility and will not be responsible for loss of any belongings.
Electronic Punching and Timing System (EPTS)
1. EMIT electronic punching and timing system will be adopted in this competition.
2. Competitors should take their registered electronic control card. In case competitors forget to take that card, they need to pay $50 hiring fee and $250 deposit, which will be refundable when card returned. (Spare cards are limited and will be served on a first-come-first-serve basis).
3. Ensure the registered electronic card number corresponds to the number shown on Start List. Otherwise, please contact OAHK as soon as possible for correction.
Course and Field information
1. Some paths and caves are covered by growth vegetation. And most of the vegetation are long grasses. Organizer advises competitors to wear long clothes, pants and gaiter for the competition.
2. Some paths and slopes are quite steep.
3. Some competition areas are covered by growth vegetation. The map content may not truly reflect the reality.
4. Some animal paths and part of unused terraced fields inside ruins are unmapped.
5. There has a forbidden route at the western part of the competition area. Symbol “711” will be used to show that route. Competitor will be disqualified if he/she uses that route.
6. There has a forbidden area at the north-western part of the competition area. This area is a private land with some dangerous dogs, which guide in here. Symbol “709” will be used to show that area. Competitor will be disqualified or will take legislation issue if he/she crosses that area.

Starting Procedure
1. This competition has two Start zones. The RED Start zone is for classes belonging to courses 1-4. The distance, climbing and time used from the Event Center to the RED Start zone are about 2km, 210m and 50 minutes respectively. The GREEN Start zone is for classes belonging to courses 5-8. The distance, climbing and time used from the Event Center to the GREEN Start zone are about 1.5km, 160m and 40 minutes respectively. For competitors who start at the GREEN zone Start, they will pass a toilet and need to cross a road. Please pay attention in the traffic condition while cross the road. Competitors must follow the marked route to their corresponding Start zone, otherwise he/she may be led to disqualification.
2. Please arrive at least 5 minutes prior to your start time. Start time will be displayed at the Start zone.
3. Please put on number bid in front of chest and have compass, whistle and electronic control card with you. Competitors without any of the above item are not allowed to start.
4. A “2-minute zone” system will be used at both Start zones. Competitors’ number will not be announced. Competitors should enter to the first box of “2-minute zone” 2 minutes before his/her start time. Enter to the next box after the next minute.
5. The IOF description will be distributed in the first “2-minute zone” box. Competitors can collect one if necessary. Scissors and tapes will be provided for competitors.
6. While entering to the last box 1 minute before start, place the electronic control card on “start unit” at the same time.
7. Competitors may start and take map after hearing the last beep. Please check if the information on map, such as class entered, is correct. Competitors are responsible for taking the right map. Competitors are not allowed to stay along the aisle between the start and the start triangle.
8. Latecomers must report to the officials at Start. They will be arranged to start at the late starting line. The time lost will not be compensated.
Finishing Procedure and Result Processing
1. Competitors must report to Finish within 150 minutes after they have started, no matter have the course completed or electronic control card lost. All courses will be closed at 1410 hrs. At finish, “punch” the electronic control card at the “finish unit”, that time will be recorded as finish time. Please hand in the back up label to the Finish Officials
2. Leave for result processing in order to avoid congestion at Finish. Competitors are advised to process results at their earliest convenience. Competitors bear their own responsibility if there is any damage or data lost during the journey.
3. Result processing counter is located at Event Centre.
4. Competitors should download their results at the result processing counter within 10 minutes after completing the course. The Result processing counter is located at 50 meters away from the Finish.
Rules
1. Course time for all courses is 150 minutes.
2. The “Orienteering Competition By-law” of the OAHK will be applied to this competition.
3. No other aids allowed except equipment aforementioned.
4. Loss of e-card will be considered as DID NOT FINISH (DNF), but competitors shall report to Finish.
5. Competitor who move or damage any facilities will be disqualified.
6. Competitors may not camp or stay overnight in the competition area beforehand or otherwise disqualified.
7. For safety, please report to Finish or Event Centre before 1410 hrs after your start.
8. Competitors should obey the instructor of the organizer.
9. The organiser has the right to amend any competition rules without prior notice to competitors. The amendment, if any, will be displayed at Event Centre.
10. Violation of competition rules will be led to disqualification.
11. All competitors must respect the right of other competitors and road user during competition. Competitors do not have a priority of right of way.
Complaints and Protests
1. A complaint can be made about infringements of the OAHK “Orienteering Competition By-law” or the organiser’s directions. Any complaint shall be made orally or in writing to the organiser as soon as possible. A complaint relating to a competitor’s result shall be made within 15 minutes after the promulgation of the result. A complaint is adjudicated by the organiser. The complainant shall be informed about the decision immediately.
2. A protest can be made against the organiser’s decision about a complaint. Any protest shall be made in writing to the organiser/a member of the jury as soon as possible and within 30 minutes of the organiser’s decision about a complaint.
Remarks
1. If there are any changes of this event information, announcement will be made by organizer on the competition day.
2. All competitors shall ensure their own safety and belongings. The organizers will not bear any responsibilities.
3. The organizer does not provide a cloakroom and will not be responsible for loss of belongings. Consequently, competitors are advised not to bring valuables.
4. If the Honk Kong Observatory issues the thunderstorm signal, a rainstorm red/black warning or the No.3 (or above) tropical cyclone warning signal by 0700 on or before the competition day, then this event will be postponed. All competitors will be informed of the new date for this event. Please visit OAHK website for further information.
