About the area The Long Distance event will be held at Lo Fu Tau & Wong Kung Tin. The area is best described as steep gully/spur terrain with varying amounts of rock features and vegetation. The terrain is predominantly ‘rough open’ with good visibility and runnability. Slow vegetation consists of longer grass, small bushes and undergrowth covers most re-entrants. Difficult to run vegetation represents even longer grass or denser patches of bushes and undergrowth, can be found in the south part of the competition area. Full body cover is highly recommended. Some parts of the competition area are stony ground with high grass and steep. Take care. You are recommend to wear studded orienteering shoes. Rich rock details can be found in the north part of the competition area. Apart from major paths used by hill walkers, there are many small and indistinct paths created by stray cattle. Do not frighten the stray cattle and give way to the hikers.
