Transportation
The organizer will not provide transportation for competitors. Please take public transport to Aberdeen and alight at Hoy Au House bus stop, Yue Kwong Road. There are signs leading to the contest area. It is about 20 minutes’ walk from the bus stop.

Event Centre
1. It takes 20minutes to walk from Yue Kwong Road (Hoy Au House) bus stop to the event centre. All contestants must follow the prescribed route, otherwise will be disqualified.
2. The Event Centre is located at the Aberdeen Reservoir No.1 BBQ pit

3. Toilets are available at the Event Centre.
4. First aid and physiotherapy service will be provided at the Event Centre.
5. Official time will be displayed at the Event Centre.
6. Please keep the Event Centre clean and take away all rubbish.
7. Please collect your number patch and electronic control card at the Event Centre. For those who have their own electronic control card, please remember to collect number patch.
8. The organizer will not provide storage service for personal belongings. It holds no responsibility for any loss of personal property.

Competitors Attire
1. Please do not bring along valuables
2. Please wear long-sleeves and light clothing; jeans are too thick.
3. Non-slip sport shoes are more suitable.
4. Only competitors equipped with a whistle, compass and number patch are
allowed to start.
5. Please bring your own food and beverage.
Electronic Punching and Timing System (EPTS)
1. Please check all information on the borrowed electronic control card and inform the organizer immediately if an error occurs.
2. Competitors are not allowed to exchange electronic control cards.
3. Before start, competitors have to clear all previous records on the control cards at prescribed point.
Start
1. The Start area is at the Event Centre.
2. Competitors should be at the start area 15 minutes prior their designated start time. Women’s class starts from Start Area A, Men’s class starts from Start Area B.
3. Competitors must wear the number patch chest high and be equipped with compasses and whistles.
4. Maps will only be given when contestants enter the Start area. Contestants are not allowed to read the map before the start time; otherwise will be disqualified.
5. Competitors should read the maps and start running only when the start signal is given.
6. Make sure you have the right map and leave the Start area immediately. The organizer holds no responsibility for any disqualification due to having the wrong map.
7. Late starters must report to late start lane and can only start when allowed. Late starters will be timed as if they started at their scheduled time.
8. Once the start signal is given, leave the Start area immediately.
Competition Area And Map Information
1. Part of the paths may be hidden due to overgrowth of vegetation and may have thorny under-growth and long grasses. Competitors must wear long trousers otherwise not allow to start.
2. Beware of some steep paths and slopes.
3. Beware of pits covered by dense vegetation.
4. There are many other users in the competition area in public holidays and Sundays, to avoid crashing with each other, competitors must be considerate when running. Competitors do not have the priority for paths or roads in the competition area.
5. As no water being provided in competition area, competitors are strongly advised to bring along themselves with sufficient water during competition.
6. Score of control points is not on a par with their difficulty.
Finish and Results
1. All competitors must report to the Finish line after the start. This also applies to those who have not finished the race or have lost the control cards. All control points will be closed at 13:00 hours.
2. All competitors must follow the entrance to enter the Finish. Entry from non-designated entrance or pass over fence is not allowed. One must follow each other for punching at Finish or risk disqualification. Competition time ends at this moment.
3. Result Processing Counter locates in the event centre.
4. Please follow the restricted lane to reach the Finish line. Put the electronic control card on the finish unit to register the finishing time. Proceed to the Result Processing Counter after crossing the Finish line. Download the electronic control card data using the Result Processing Unit and return the electronic control card to the crew (if applicable). Competitors are required to keep their own back-up label and to show their back-up label to the crew in case of results checking. Make sure the card and data are in good condition. Competitors are responsible for the loss or damage of the control card and data.
5. Scoring:
Scores will be calculated according to the result submitted by clubs. Clubs are required to calculate the scores of their 5 chosen teams. The score calculation is as follows:
Men’s class : Points gained x 1.0
Women’s class : Points gained x 1.25
The time limit is 90 minutes. 20 points will be deducted for each minute of overtime; time less than 1 minute will also be counted as 1 minute.
Club representatives are required to collect the scoring form at the Event Centre after result announcement. Completed forms should be submitted by 15:00 hours and cannot be amended afterwards.
Competition Rules
1. The OAHK Competition by-laws shall apply.
2. Swapping competitors without permission was prohibited. Results of both parties in OAHK events for the whole season would be cancelled in case of finding.
3. Team members could not be apart for more than 10m during the course.
4. Apart from the map and the above-mentioned equipment, no other equipment or aids can be used in the race.
5. Competitors are not allowed to interfere or remove any control points facilities. Competitors will be charged for any damage done.
6. Competitors must report to the Finish area before 13:30 hours even if they have not completed the course or have lost their E-Card.
7. Please comply with the organizer’s instructions.
8. Competitors should follow the rule of the country park and keep the country park area clean.
9. Please respect the rights of other competitors or hikers, competitors and organiser have no priority in road using.
10. Any competition rule amendments will be posted on the event date.
11. Competitors are not allow camping in the competition area.
12. The organizer will collect all lent-out electronic control cards at the Result Processing Counter.
13. E-card losing will be treated as contest incompletion but will still have to report to the Finish Line.
14. For safety control, all competitors must report to the Finish within 120 minutes after start
Enquiry and Re-Issue
1. All competitors have to get their number patch at the Event Centre; those who borrow an E-card have to sign an agreement (Competitors who have their own E-card, please collect number patch at the event centre).
2. There is a charge of $5 for every re-issue of number patch.
3. In case competitors (those who use own e-cards) forget to take electronic control card, they need to pay $50 rental fee and $250 deposit, refundable upon return. (Spare cards are limited and will be served on a first-come-first-serve basis).
4. For any re-issue, please proceed to the Event Centre.
1. The organizer undertakes no responsibility for any loss or injury resulting from this event.
2. Please keep all areas clean. Do not pollute the water or countryside.
3. If a thunderstorm signal, any rainstorm warning or the No.3 (or above) tropical cyclone warning signal is in effect one day before the competition, the event may be postponed. You may get updated information from HKOL Forum http://hkol.5d6d.com/bbs.php. Further arrangement will be announced in the OAHK web-site.
If a thunderstorm signal, any rainstorm warning or the No.3 (or above) tropical cyclone warning signal is in effect at 6:00 a.m. on the competition day, the event will be postponed. Further arrangement will be announced in the OAHK web-site.
If a thunderstorm signal, any rainstorm warning or the No.3 (or above) tropical cyclone warning signal is in effect during competition, Competition will be terminate and will not re-arrange. All competitors must report to the Finish Area.
4. If an emergency happens during the competition, please stay on the spot and send out international SOS signal, and wait for assistance. (SOS signal: blowing whistle 6 times consecutively at 1 minute interval)
5. Due to recent dengue fever cases found in HK, use of mosquito repellent is recommended. Do not drink untreated water.
6. A penalty of $300 will be charged for any loss or damage of the borrowed electronic control card.
7. There is no prize-giving ceremony on the event day. All prizes will be given at the OAHK AGM in June 2010. Details will be announced.
